What paper stocks are available and which should I choose?
We offer a wide range of premium paper stocks and canvas, each chosen to suit different styles of artwork, photography and display.
- Hahnemühle German Etching – A heavily textured, velvety paper with a traditional fine art feel. Best for paintings, illustrations and artwork where texture enhances the final piece. This is our most popular choice, and is similar texture to Tintoretto Gesso paper.
- Hahnemühle Bamboo – A sustainable paper with a unique 90% bamboo fibre construction. Features a premium matt coating with 10% cotton for a soft-to-touch finish. Ideal for nature-inspired artwork, muted colour palettes and eco-conscious creatives.
- Hahnemühle Photo Rag Pearl – A 100% cotton, natural white paper that is acid and lignin free. Its elegant pearl finish enhances colour vibrancy and fine detail, making it an excellent choice for fine art photography, colourful artwork and exhibition-quality prints.
- Canson Cotton – A smooth cotton paper offering outstanding sharpness, tonal range and archival quality. Perfect for photographic reproductions, detailed illustrations and limited edition prints.
- Epson Premium Luster – A professional lustre finish with minimal glare and excellent colour reproduction. An all-round favourite for portraits, weddings, landscapes and portfolios.
- Kodak Photographic Gloss – A classic high-gloss photo finish that produces vibrant colours and striking contrast. Ideal for colourful images, family photographs and display prints.
- Matt – A smooth, non-reflective finish for a contemporary look and easy readability.
- Satin – A subtle sheen that balances vibrant colour with reduced glare, making it a versatile choice for most artwork.
- Silk – A premium finish with enhanced colour vibrancy and a refined sheen, ideal for bold graphics and posters.
- Uncoated – A natural, tactile paper with a softer appearance, perfect for illustrations, sketches and designs with a handcrafted feel.
- Printed on durable polyester canvas and stretched over a sturdy wooden frame, Canvas Prints offer a textured, gallery-style finish that's perfect for family photos, landscapes, artwork and statement wall décor.
What is wrap mounting?
Wrap mounting is a stylish way to bring your prints to life. Your print is carefully trimmed and folded around a mounting board material of your choice, seamlessly wrapping the image around the edges to finish at the back. This adhesive-backed technique provides a polished, borderless look - no frames required! It's a brilliant option for photographers, artists, and photo enthusiasts looking for a clean, modern way to showcase their work.
What is the difference between Giclée Printing and Photography Printing?
Both Giclée and Photography Prints deliver exceptional print quality, but they're designed for different purposes:
- Giclée Fine Art Prints are produced on professional large format printers using archival pigment inks and museum-quality fine art papers. This combination delivers exceptional colour accuracy, rich detail and long-lasting fade resistance, making them ideal for artwork, illustrations and limited edition prints. Choose from three renowned Hahnemühle papers or Canson Cotton for gallery-quality results.
- Photography Prints are also produced on premium Epson large format printers using archival pigment inks, but are printed on specialist photographic papers designed to enhance sharpness, contrast and vibrant colour. Choose from Epson Premium Luster or Kodak Photographic Gloss for stunning photographs, portfolios and everyday wall art.
How do I print foil on my Foil Art Prints?
Adding foil to your design is a great way to create a bold, eye-catching finish. The set-up process for this is slightly different, so to ensure your artwork is set up correctly please follow our handy step-by-step artwork guide here. This will show you how to prepare your file, specify your foil areas and create a design that’s ready for professional printing.
- Set your artwork to CMYK colour mode for accurate colour reproduction.
- Add a 3mm bleed around your design to avoid white edges after trimming.
- Convert all foiled elements to vector artwork and set them to 100% black. This creates the foil mask, showing exactly where the foil will be applied.
- Export your files as high-quality PDFs for the best print results.
- CMYK artwork – Your printed artwork only, with no foil elements.
- Foil only artwork – A file showing only the areas to be foiled in 100% black.
- Preview file – A visual mock-up showing how the finished design will look with both the printed artwork and foil applied.
What is Giclée printing?
Giclée printing is a premium fine art printing process designed to reproduce artwork, photography and illustrations with exceptional detail, colour accuracy and longevity. The term Giclée comes from the French word meaning “to spray”, referring to the way specialist inkjet printers precisely spray millions of tiny droplets of archival pigment inks onto fine art paper. Unlike standard printing methods, Giclée printing uses a wider colour range and high-quality archival materials to capture subtle tones, intricate details and the original character of the artwork. This makes Giclée Prints the ideal choice for artists, photographers, galleries and collectors looking for professional-quality reproductions that are designed to stand the test of time.
Why do you use Hahnemühle papers for Giclée Fine Art Prints?
Hahnemühle is a globally recognised name in fine art printing, trusted by artists, photographers, galleries and museums for its premium-quality papers. Their papers are renowned for their exceptional texture, archival properties and ability to reproduce artwork with outstanding detail and colour accuracy. For our Giclée Fine Art Prints, we use a selection of Hahnemühle papers chosen to complement different styles of artwork, from textured illustrations and paintings to detailed photography. Combined with our archival pigment inks and professional large format printing technology, these papers help create museum-quality prints designed to preserve your artwork for years to come.

Extras
Lamination
Lamination types
Matt: Protects your print while giving a subtle and soft finish.
Gloss: Offers a high shine that works well with images and solid colours.
Velvet: Gives a soft, touchable texture and non-shine finish.
Anti-Bacterial Gloss: This high-shine gloss is embedded with silver ions that prevents 99% of bacteria surviving.
Lamination Sides
None: Without lamination, you can feel the real texture of the paper, and it's easy to write on.
One side: We will always laminate on page 1 of your PDF when ‘one side’ is selected. If that isn't the page you want laminated, just swap the page order in your PDF.
Both sides: The most popular choice when laminating – choose both sides when you want double the protection.
Remember: Laminating will protect your print but you will not be able to write on it with certain types of pen. If you're printing with heavy ink coverage, we recommend using lamination to protect the print and prevent damage.
