How to apply and Vinyl and Stickers
Applying Vinyls
Applying Vinyl Stickers and Decals is quick and easy! Follow these steps for smooth application:
- Prepare the surface – Make sure the surface is clean and dry. Use soap, water, or rubbing alcohol to remove dust or grease.
- Position your decal or vinyl – Place the decal where you want it, still attached to the backing paper. Use a ruler for perfect alignment.
- Secure with tape – Use masking tape to hold it in place.
- Remove the backing paper – Slowly peel off the backing paper to expose the adhesive side.
- Smooth it down – Press the decal onto the surface, starting from the centre and working outward to avoid air bubbles.
- Use a squeegee or credit card – Firmly press the decal to ensure it sticks.
- Peel off the transfer tape (if provided with your product) – Slowly remove the top tape, leaving the decal in place.
Vinyl is best suited for smooth, flat surfaces, such as glass or metal, where its adherence properties can be fully utilised. While this material is versatile and can be used for a range of applications, attempting to apply it to textured surfaces, like brick, wood, or textured walls, may impact its performance and adherence, potentially leading to peeling or bubbling over time. For flooring, our Anti-Slip Vinyl material is specifically designed to add durability and safety, making it perfect for floor surfaces. This specialised material ensures both secure adhesion and added traction, ideal for areas prone to foot traffic.
Most vinyls are not designed to be removed, however if you’re printing a short-term or seasonal design, choosing one of our ‘removable’ materials will allow the vinyl to be carefully peeled off when you’re done with it. After being removed, the vinyl is not reusable.
Applying and removing Stickers
All of our stickers are designed to be quick and easy to apply, whether you’re using them for personal projects, gifts, or smaller batches.
If you’re planning to use stickers for packaging or products and need to apply large quantities, we recommend choosing stickers on a roll. They’re designed for efficient, fast application, making bulk jobs much easier and saving you time.
Our stickers are crafted for secure adhesion with a single application, ensuring they remain firmly in place once applied. The removal process may vary based on the surface they were adhered to. If you need to take them off, follow these steps for optimal results:
- Peel Gently: Start at one edge and slowly peel back the Sticker. Applying steady pressure will help prevent tearing.
- Use Heat: If the Sticker is stubborn, gently use a hairdryer to warm the adhesive, making it easier to remove.
- Clean Residue: If any adhesive residue remains, use a gentle adhesive remover or rubbing alcohol with a soft cloth to clean the surface.
