Digital vs Block Foiling – explained
At Printed.com, we can add Foil accents to your print using two methods.
Digital Foiling is our standard method. It doesn’t require the use of plates – it’s printed directly from a file on the computer, resulting in a flat print product, without any texture or embossing. Unlike Block Foiling, Digital Foiling has no set up costs, making it far more affordable than traditional methods. Digital Foiling is available on Silk, Uncoated and Trucard paper stocks.
Traditional Foil Blocking offers more freedom with your designs and more choice when it comes to colours. Unlike Digital Foiling, you can choose any paper stock as your foil elements are pressed with metal plates, instead of printed from a file. If you’re after this type of finish, fill in our Bespoke form and we’ll get back to you with a quote within 24 hours.
