This year, we sponsored five categories:

Winner: Beeston Manor

Wedding Venue of the year (town or city)

Field Place Manor House and Barns

Wedding Photographer of the year

Winner: The Crawleys

Event Team of the year

The Wellbeing Farm

Recently, we were lucky enough to attend the national final hosted at the fabulous Cafe de Paris and experienced all the fun, glitter and acrobatics on offer! The Roller Banners we supplied shone under the spotlights and as we danced the night away, we managed to catch up with some of our fantastic wedding customers who’s amazing design skills had earned them a spot in the final. Two of them even won awards and we couldn’t be prouder!

So, without further ado, let our fabulous customers fill you in on all the fun and give you their award-winning advice!

The Violet Paper Studio

Winner of Wedding Stationer of the Year

1. How did it feel to win an award at the National Final?

It felt very overwhelming but ultimately it just felt amazing! Winning the regional award was a real highlight for me so to go on and win the National was beyond my expectations and I cannot thank my amazing clients enough for voting for me and for the judging panel for seeing something in my little business.

2. Is this your first time being nominated for such an award?

I entered TWIA for the first time in 2019 and became a regional finalist but didn’t win, so this year’s double win feels even greater!

3. What do you think it was about your business that inspired the judges to pick you?

I think it could possibly be the range of ideas and styles that I can offer my clients. Before starting up Violet Paper Studio I worked for various design agencies which taught me to be very adaptable to different briefs to suit a range of clients and tastes, so I wanted to bring this with me to my wedding stationery designs too.

4. How do you think this award will elevate your business/new customers in the future?

I think it will open my business up to new clients who may not have had the opportunity to hear of me before, and I think it will also help to establish my business among the top players in the wedding industry which of course has huge value in terms of reputation and recognition.

5. Will this achievement influence your designs moving forward?

I don’t think so, no. I think its really important for designers to stay true to their own style and way of working as your designs have to reflect you as a person.

6. What advice do you have for newcomers to the wedding stationery industry?

Ultimately I would say to find your own voice and style and be consistent with your messaging. I would also never underestimated the power of beautiful photography and a good website as these will be your tools to showcase what you do in the best possible light.

Wedding Industry awards
Highly Commended for Wedding Stationer of the Year

1. How did you feel to win an award at the National Final?

Winning the award feels amazing! The Wedding Industry Awards is so prestigious and in my opinion it’s the award anyone in the industry would strive to win, so to come away with the Highly Commended award is incredible!

2. Is this your first time being nominated for such an award

This is the first year I have entered the award and I wasn’t expecting to even win the Regional event, so the outcome is pretty amazing!

3. What do you think it was about your business that inspired the judges to pick you?

My business has a clear aesthetic and is tailored for people who want to make their invites personal so each design is completely unique, making them a little different from other wedding stationers, hopefully this is what stood out to the judges!

4. How do you think this award will elevate your business/new customers in the future?

I think it will give my customers an extra level of confidence when they decide to go ahead with me. As the designs are bespoke my customers have to put a certain amount of trust in me that I’m going to produce a design that is exactly what they were after.

5. Will this achievement influence your designs moving forward?

I think it reassures me that my business is heading in the right direction! It’s also really helpful to receive the judges feedback which is something I will use to improve my business

6. What advice do you have for newcomers to the wedding stationery industry?

I would say start building your brand with the aim to find your niche and don’t be influenced by generic trends you see. For me this didn’t happen straight away and has been a work in progress, but I can now confidently say I know my style and have a clear brand aesthetic.
