First up are these fabulous floral pins by the equally fabulous Jessica Smith Illustrations. Her first-ever Kickstarter project, the colourful backing card compliments her pin perfectly. The intricate illustration adds a beautiful finishing touch, yet leaves plenty of space in the centre for the Poppy Pin to really shine. This is an ideal composition if you want to make your own.

At the other end of the spectrum are these minimalist jewellery backing designs by Artelier London. These beautiful clay earrings are hosted by a simplistic, clean white backing card, allowing the product to really speak for itself. Sometimes less really is more, especially if you want your brand name or logo to stand out.

Asking for Trouble

Who said ghosts had to be scary? Not us! And certainly not Marceline of Asking For Trouble and this adorable brooch design. Inspired by Japenese kawaii, this little spirit has had several iterations with the latest able to glow in the dark. With a product this bright, the black backing is the perfect accompaniment with the green type giving the design it’s luminescent feel.

Dotties Paper Co.

When we saw something this pink, we HAD to stop and stare. These pins are the perfect reminder that despite everything 2020 has thrown at us, we’ve all got this! Created by the wonderful Ellie of Dottie’s Paper Co, we love her use of rounded corners which add a softer aesthetic to the product backing. The matching pink hues make it match made in heaven in our humble opinion!

Alice Tams

Did someone say birds in hats? No stranger to our blog, Alice Tams has a knack for bringing out the personality for all kinds of birds and her pins are no exception. These designs are a great example of how you can use your jewellery backing designs to complete an entire composition. Each little feathered friend has their own unique setting, from the streets of London to a tropical paradise. We love them!

Another great example of utilising round corners are these designs by Claire Paul Draws. Whether you’re a dog or a cat person, these cute little pins will make sure that your decision is clear to those around you. The choice of a textured paper stock is wonderfully tactile and creates a lovely contrast to the smooth enamel pins.
