Packaging and presentation master class with Say it with Brownies

At Say it with Brownies we send boxes of a dozen handmade chocolate brownies by post as gifts.  Customers order through our website or they get in touch through our Facebook page or Twitter.  It is, of course, essential that the brownies are delicious, but it is equally as important that the gift is beautifully presented and packaged to make it really special.

Our gift packaging for brownies is made up of several elements to give a professional finish.  We source many of these items through printed.com, as they offer great value for money and we particularly love the online re-ordering process, it couldn’t be easier.

To present our brownies in their gift packaging, our brownies are first carefully wrapped in greaseproof and tissue paper.  Two round stickers with our Say it with Brownies branding secure the paper.  This way the brownies stay secure and fresh for about a week and they are able to withstand the post without any risk of damage.

The next step is to place the brownies into our gift box, making sure everything looks neat and tidy for when the lucky recipient opens the lid.  We place inside the box a folded business card that informs the consumer which flavour brownies they have been sent.  We offer over ten flavours plus a monthly ‘Flavour of the Month’, so there are plenty of options to choose from.  We currently have honeycomb brownies for September which have proved to be a big hit!

The lid is then closed, another round sticker is placed on to the gift box with the greeting message that our customer has selected when ordering their brownies.  We have seventeen different occasions to choose from, the most popular ones are Happy Birthday, Thank You, With Love, Good Luck and, of course, Happy Christmas for our busiest month of the year!

The final steps are to add a shiny satin ribbon and the handwritten gift card and the brownies are ready to be wrapped in brown paper, ready for the post.

Packaging is really important, and people who don't take that into account are really missing a trick. The buyer first & foremost wants a great product, but when it is also presented professionally but with a personal touch, it really makes the experience something a bit more special - and something they might be more inclined to repeat...
