2022 is almost here, and that means it’s time to start planning ahead. We’ve rounded up four of our favourite 2022 Greeting Card trends to help get those creative juices flowing.
New trends in print are ever-changing and at Printed.com, we’re dedicated to keeping you ahead of the game. So whether you’re creating a new collection or you’re a complete design newbie, let’s take look at what’s set to make big waves in 2022.
Recycle Like There’s No Tomorrow
In a push to turnaround our impact on the environment, we’re expecting another year of strong interest in recycling and eco-friendly materials. More people are recognising the dangers of buying products with short life-spans and will be looking for recyclable and biodegradable options. This is one 2022 Greeting Card trend that you simply can’t ignore.
From recycled versions of our most popular papers such as Silk and Uncoated to the earthy tones of carbon-neutral Kraft paper. Our eco-friendly papers are good for the planet and don’t compromise on quality and style.
Shaking Up And Celebrating Gender
Traditional gender norms that once skewed our views on masculine and feminine narratives are (at last) being reassessed. It’s time to shake off the stereotypes, but to also celebrate gender and individuality.
With special occasions such as Valentines Day, Father’s Day and Mothers Day being the perfect place to start. We’ll see a move away from stereotypes, with a focus on more diverse and celebratory designs.
Creatives such as Emmy Lupin have been recognising gender in their work since the very beginning. You can find out more about her on our recent blog to get inspired.
Pantone Colour Of The Year 2022
Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2022 has been announced as Very Peri (no, this isn’t a new Nando’s sauce). A fusion of blue and violet red, Pantone describe it as representing ‘carefree confidence and daring curiosity’. Interestingly for the first time ever, Pantone has created a brand new tone for 2022, marking new beginnings.
Being well-suited to an array of textures and finishes, this warm and whimsical shade is the perfect colour to incorporate into your Greeting Card designs. Paired with the texture of our Fresco Gesso paper or brought to life with a pop of contrasting Foiling, it means that the design possibilities are endless. Any Excuse To Party
Moments of celebration are evolving. Thanks to the pandemic, people are no longer just celebrating the usual holidays and milestones. From adoption parties to the dogs 1st birthday, people are toasting to life itself and finding new ways to mark the little joys. And this comes with more unconventional and thoughtful cards to suit these micro-celebrations.
People are really finding any excuse to party, so think outside the box. What about a card to celebrate a breakup? That may seem strange, but some relationships REALLY aren’t worth crying over.
