How to create DIY Christmas Cards
DIY Christmas cards are a hot trend this year – and they’re the ideal way to add the personal touch.
We’ve put together this handy guide so you can create your own in just three easy steps!
Step 1:

or create your own Greeting Card design using minimal elements. You’ll be adding your own embellishments later, so keep it simple!
We recommend printing your cards on A5, and choosing a textured paper stock like Gesso, Nettuno or Laid, for the best finish. Go for a heavier stock if you’re using watercolour paint, as this will help avoid curling when your card dries.
Don’t forget to add envelopes too! Kraft are the ideal complement for a handcrafted design.
Step 2
Add your embellishments
Once your cards have been delivered, (you can get them next day if you’re in a hurry) it’s time to get creative! The possibilities are endless here, and the great thing is you can customise yours depending in the recipient.
We’ve gone for a watercolour finish, which looks great paired with textured paper.
Why not choose a colour that your recipient will love and let the paper absorb the paint for an ombre style finish?
Step 3
Add the final flourishes
Once your card is dry, it’s time to add those special personal touches.
We used a calligraphy pen to add the names of our recipients, and we think the results are pretty striking!
Of course, the final flourishes are up to you. You could add ribbon, crystals, gift tags, or glitter – the sky’s the limit for your creativity!
