printed.com do the Great North Run

Times are tough, but working towards a brighter future shouldn't be impossible. As part of our 'job creation' initiative, we operate a full apprenticeship scheme at our Newcastle production plant and run a work experience programme in our London head office.
We love having interns working with us; they get valuable work experience and we get a fresh perspective— perfect partners in the making!
Jack Green Customer experience and social networking intern
During his time with us, Jack was busy contacting first time buyers and making sure they had a great shopping experience. When he wasn't glued to the phone or rinsing our supply of sweets, Jack also spent time scouring the internet for potential platforms to host our Design Central Gallery— he even gave a presentation!
Sophie Connett Customer experience intern
Sophie worked with us for a year, contacting our first time buyers to see how they found shopping with us and taking down any feedback they had. She loved being able to speak to customers directly and hear the great comments they gave. Sophie is now at university, training to become a nurse.
Oli Green Social networking and SEO intern
Oli spent his time with us helping out on our social networking sites, and getting involved with our search engine optimisation and marketing. He studied politics at University College London and has used the skills he learned with us to get into business development. Go Oli!
Here at printed.com, we're environmentally friendly, and proud of it! We have ISO 14001, are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and recycle 100% of our production waste. We make sure that all our paper suppliers share our goal of being the best when it comes to taking care of the planet. It's good to be green!
We love charities and work with hundreds of organisations a day, getting stuck in with project collaborations, fundraising, donations and general support. Charities which register with us benefit from a life time discount, printed point donations from customers, and enjoy printing benefits which help their funds go further.
We have worked with Centrepoint, Mind in Haringey and So
Precious, and even donated half our day's profits for 11/11/11
to Help for Heroes. Print is a perfect way to help reach out to
others and spread the word— a little goes a long way to make
a huge difference!

How to get involved
There's no end to the ways in which local businesses can help their communities and we want to explore every possibility. For us, putting back into the community means giving support and exposure to charities and schools, helping out with local events and sports teams, using our own resources to teach new skills and work experience, and printing responsibly.
Being the UK's 'local printer' means being a responsible company, not just in the materials we use and the way we print, but in how we treat our staff, customers and everyone who engages with us. It's a tall order, but we love a challenge!
