App of the Week: Worldictionary

If you’re planning on travelling this year then potentially we have an App that you can’t live with out.

The Worldictionary App allows you to translate on-the-go up to 22 different languages, ranging from Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean to French, Italian and Spanish. This app is incredibly easy to use, and a must if you’re traveling and don’t want to be wasting precious time skimming through a dictionary. The App is simple to use, all you need to do is hold you iPhone or iPad camera above the word and the app will translate it in to any of the 22 languages.

Features of the App include:

  •  Build up your own word database, as Worldictionary automatically saves your search records.
  •  Provides Google, Wiki and YouTube search’s
  •  Sentence translation
  • ‘View and Translate’- for instant translation
  • Select an image from your photo library

Any downsides?

While the app is available on the iPhone and iPad 2and 3, it does not work well with the iPhone 3 and iPod touch 4th Gen as the camera does not autofocus. Apart from that we have no complaints.

The Worldictionary app is available to download for the iPhone and iPad here.
