In June this year, as a response to seeing all of the inspiring designs that come through the printed.com website, we started Design Wednesdays on our Facebook page to encourage all of the designers, artists and illustrators who use us to network and share their designs.
This, along with the increasing demand for designers from our customers, led to the launch of The Design Central Gallery, a visual directory of designers, their work and contact details. It lets our customers find the design they want for their next project and contact the designer directly.
As a designer, The Design Central Gallery gives you the opportunity to promote your work to our growing customer base. Design Wednesdays and the gallery also allow you to interact with other designers and see their work. Potential Customers can see your online portfolio and contact you directly for future work without having to go through a middleman or pay any fees.
As a customer, you can use the Design Central Gallery to look for the perfect style you want for your next order. Many of our regular designers post leaflet, poster and business card designs, so you’ll have an idea if what the finished product will look like. Because the gallery is based on a social platform, you’ll be able to interact with the designer you want immediately; view the rest of their portfolio and you’ll have access to their personal contact details without having to pay a penny. As an added bonus you can post requests for designs directly onto our Facebook wall and see designers get back to you almost instantaneously.
In September we launch our new calendar orders for 2013. So, we thought we would set up a challenge for both designers who are new to printed.com and those who have become regular faces very Design Wednesday. All you need to do is submit a calendar design for any Design Wednesday throughout September. The designer of the entry voted as the winner by our guest judge will receive 5000 printed points to spend with our Reward Programme Partners. The winning design will also be shared across all of our social platforms and featured on our blog. It’s a great chance to get free exposure to thousands of potential customers.
How to enter;
• Design a calendar! (We don’t expect you to design the whole thing, a front cover and an inside page will do)
• Email your design to email@example.com
The overall winner will also have the opportunity to have their calendar design printed for free (if you want to complete the design, that is!).
All designs will be featured on Facebook and the calendar design that is voted the winner will be announced at 5pm on Friday 28th September.
