printed.com and Centrepoint have started the search for the UK’s best young design talent all in the name of a good cause…
Rapidly expanding print store, printed.com, has teamed up with Centrepoint to launch a competition giving young designers the chance to showcase their talents, while supporting the charity’s work helping young homeless people. The competition challenges designers to create a piece of direct mail which promotes Centrepoint’s involvement with ‘Give as You Live’, a downloadable widget that enables consumers to effortlessly donate to the charity.
Entrants are challenged to create an A5 sized, single-sided design for use as a direct mail shot, to inspire people to download the Give as you Live widget to their browser toolbar. Once downloaded, the widget will ensure a donation is automatically made to Centrepoint every time the consumer makes an online purchase.
Nick Green, founder of printed.com, spoke of how the idea came about: “As an entrepreneur, I appreciate the importance of recognising enterprise and young talent that needs a little support as I have been in that very situation. We are very lucky that printed.com has been a success ever since its launch in 2011. Running an apprenticeship scheme that gives young people a chance to get their foot on the career ladder, and recognising young talent has always been a passion of the business.”
