We’re pleased to announce that small business support website Smarta and have joined forces to release a free EBook crammed with ideas to ramp up your business. Entitled 50 low-budget, high-impact marketing tips, it brings you effective tricks that won’t break the bank from an exciting line-up of experts. Ranging from short, inspiring pointers to more detailed advice, the tips take you through all the key phases of your marketing efforts.

The book is launched today and to give you a teaser of what to expect, here’s a snippet from the bright ideas section:

Look for bloggers, big tweeters, serious networks, big mammas, etc, and be sure to tell them what you expect in return.

Get radio coverage by appealing to the DJ’s sense of humour and station staff’s stomachs. Radio drops are a simple PR tactic – first find a reason to take your product to the station, like a bank holiday or a DJ’s pet peeve that your product can resolve. Package up your product with a clear, quirky note about why you are sending it - be sure to take luscious pastries or cakes as well. Arrive at the front desk and let them know you have a delivery for a particular DJ, and let the receptionist do the rest.

Ryan Higginson, vice president of Digital Channel Europe, Pitney Bowes

By choosing the right QR code generator, you can track where and when scans are made and then use this data to plan future campaigns. Launching a QR code can be done within hours and for as little as £2.99 a month, and this combination of providing digital materials via physical channels opens up a number of opportunities to reach that customer on the move.

As well as more bright ideas, the EBook has chapters that cover print & direct, digital & online, keeping customers and research & review.
