printed.com; helping to save the rainforest

For the period on January 1 - December 31 2011 printed.com has been working to minimise the environmental impact at its 50,000sq ft production plant by balancing 174 tonnes of carbon dioxide as certified by World Land Trust.

The World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation organisation that takes direct action to save rainforest and other wildlife habitats. WLT and its overseas project partners have been instrumental in the purchase and protection of over 500,000 acres, now protected as permanent wildlife reserves.

printed.com has received a certificate from the WLT showing that the company, by using carbon-balanced paper, has balanced (offset) the equivalent of 174 tonnes of carbon dioxide in 2011.

This has enabled the WLT to preserve in perpetuity 14790m² of critically threatened tropical forest at WLT Carbon Balanced Paper projects sites.

Carbon balanced paper is paper for which the carbon impact of the production and distribution process has been balanced, or offset, by the World Land Trust.

"printed.com is extremely proud to have achieved this success as recognised by such an important and highly respected organisation as the WLT. Being environmentally friendly is extremely important to us and our customers and we're very pleased to be able to help offset carbon emissions on their behalf."

Nicholas Green, Founder, printed.com

printed.com are already working towards improving their carbon dioxide offset for 2012 and continue to operate under FSC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 accreditations.

printed.com aims to become the easiest website in the UK for ordering quality print through.
