Taking a creativity fieldtrip is an excellent way to help keep your mind sharp and to get yourself into a creative mood. Instead of heading down to the local library, check out some of our favourite London haunts for guaranteed inspiration.
The Lido Café, Herne Hill
The Lido café is a prime location for creative inspiration as it is, but when you throw in a bit of swimming and some utterly delicious buttermilk pancakes, you’ve got a recipe for delight! They also have a range of fresh, brain boosting juices on offer, sure to help you get your mojo back.
As the name suggests, the Design Museum is devoted to contemporary design in every form, from architecture and fashion to graphics, product and industrial design. You can find this inspiration-stuffed gem next to Tower Bridge in Bermondsey, an area rich in old architecture and interesting history.
This park is one of our favourite locations for finding inspiration, and not just because of the fresh air. Go on long, picturesque walks to give your brain a break, create a little workstation for yourself on one of the many benches, or—if you prefer your creature comforts—head to the La Gondola al Parco café and hole up for some headspace and delicious snacks.
Royal Festival Hall
If you need a workspace to help you break out of the monotony of your office, kitchen table, local coffee shop or café, then Royal Festival Hall is exactly what the doctor ordered. For a small membership fee, you are free to go and use the space to work and collaborate with other creatives—we think it’s well worth it!
For some creatives, the mere sound of moving water is enough to get them into the mood to work. You can find Little Venice just north of Paddington; it’s a small but idyllic location that has a plethora of waterside cafés and eateries so you can make a base or walk the tow path to clear your designer’s block.
Pay a visit to the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch and you’ll have found yourself a truly gorgeous place to get work done in style. The lobby boasts a café, comfy chairs and a large, round corner table, so you’ll be set for hours!
