Event managers – our tips for happy clients

Making any event stand out in a crowded calendar can be tough. Whether it’s a charity fundraiser, community fair, corporate conference or a private function, clients are looking for event organisers to handle more and more tasks – both on the day and in the planning and follow-up stages.

As an event organiser it’s great to be able to deliver innovative printing ideas as well as more traditional event management roles. With a bit of help from our Events Collection, you can do just that – and keep clients happy.

We’ve put together some top tips to help you deliver event printing that really goes above and beyond.

Use promo materials to offer incentives

High-quality leaflets, flyers or information cards will play a crucial part in getting people to your event in the first place. But they can also work harder – you can include an incentive or reward on your promotional material. Why not enter all guests who arrive with an event flyer into a prize draw, or offer a free gift at the door?

Handouts are a chance to get creative with perforation – incorporate tear-off drinks tickets for the wedding bar, or vouchers redeemable at an exhibitor’s stand.

Get a network effect with branded stickers and postcards

A witty, branded giveaway such as a postcard or sticker is a great way of spreading the word.

A simple entry sticker handed out on arrival can be a valuable promo opportunity – it’s likely to stay on a bag or jacket all day, and maybe longer, which at a big event can increase your reach significantly.

Stickers are incredibly versatile as an events tool. Need to divide people into groups for a training exercise, or a dinner seating plan? Hand out colour-coded stickers as they arrive. Planning a children’s event? Stickers make great prizes for any activities you’ve got going on.

You’ll find a range of different sticker options in our Events Collection, whether you’re after round, square, rectangle or A-size.

A well-designed postcard takeaway has a longer shelf-life: if it finds its way to someone’s desk or pinboard it’s the perfect medium for contact details to be recalled weeks or even months later and turned into active new business leads.

You can even create a set of different postcards on a common theme – visitors can share them with others, allowing them to become promoters and champions of your brand.  Give a postcard a clever functional design – such as a template for jotting down names and contact details, for example – and it’s more likely to be used and kept.

Signs of success

Why rely on the venue to get the signage right? You can add a consistent, professional feel to any event with custom signs for essential information and to signpost important areas.

This could include everything from the basics like location of toilets, exits and parking areas, to hanging ceiling signs for information points, bars and so on. On a smaller scale, wall or table signs can show wedding guests where to leave gifts and sign the guest book, while outdoor signs direct them to car parking and cloakrooms.

We can help with indoor and outdoor signs, featuring your own artwork and with options including drilled holes, rounded corners and white ink.

With digital printing technology, taking on the job of organising event printing is well within your reach: and if you can offer that extra service, clients will always appreciate not having to find yet another supplier.

I would love it if you did individually backed stickers. It would be easier to give them out.
