Nicholas Green
Founder
Operating a rather strict office policy of no electrical wires on show, no brown boxes and 6 inch high heels to be worn at all times (yes, this does include the boys) his staff live in fear of his quick witted put downs and garish socks. Nick is a man you always want on your team. Get him to really like you and he may even treat you to a Colin the caterpillar cake; but remember, he'll always want something in return. The ambition is very simple: "to build printed.com into the easiest and biggest site on the internet for buying digital print through".
Paul Duffy
Product Manager
Notching up 13 years to date, Paul is a permanent fixture of the group (we've tried to get rid of him but he just won't budge). A hard grafter ideally suited to product management, Paul has a superior knowledge of all things print. Paul has turned around the way we do things here and has a long list of updates ready at all times to hand to our web developers. Just don't ask him about his kids, his slideshow of family photos will have you asleep before you know it.
Jess Morgan
Product Executive
The first time Jess walked in to the office we all took an immediate liking to her. Cool, calm, collected and quietly confident we saw her fitting in straight away. And we were right! At the tender age of 22 she certainly makes us all feel very old with her abbrev'd vocab. heavily borrowed from her favourite show TOWIE (that's The Only Way Is Essex to you and I). Hilair, jel, horrend and ridic feature heavily in her daily chat and in a desperate bid to cling on to our youth we're now all at it, totes ridic we know. Jess hails from Watford where she lives with her family. Shopping, socialising and keeping our customers happy are what Jess does best.
Julie Carney
Head of Creative
Julie also has an amazing eye for design and has completely transformed how printed.com brands itself. Julie's wealth of print knowledge is a fantastic advantage but her love of Pantone cool grey 10 is a bit strange and we don't really understand it or her accent most of the time. Hailing from a long line of giants, Julie would not be out of place on an NBA court and has more qualifications than middle names. Julie has a great work ethic and if anything stands in her way will almost certainly give you "one of them looks".
Emma Pugsley
Digital Designer
Emma is our resident Aussie and lists her loves as vegemite, live music and fairy lights (we're not putting the office Christmas tree next to her then). When Emma grows up she wants to have, wait for it... a wrapping room. When not playing with Flash, Illustrator or Photoshop, Emma is enjoying London, its architecture, pubs, shopping and chocolate. Not only a design genius, Emma also boasts a BSc in Nursing, Midwifery and Indigenous Health and a Bachelors of Applied Multimedia. She also has some awards for e-commerce and online trading but no-one's ever heard of them over here, she could be lying for all we know.
Gary Broomfield
Creative Web Designer
Essex lad and Chelsea fan Gary is an ace graphic designer who makes a lovely job of our pages. He is, however rather prone to accidents and gaffes: he's been hit by a car three times, and once got locked in his own bedroom for two hours. He tends to talk too much and say the wrong thing when he's nervous. Once, at a wedding, he accidentally took part in Holy Communion, despite not being a catholic. He used to play American football and tries to keep fit by running round the park early in the morning. At work, his alter ego, Frank, gets the blame for anything that goes wrong.
Ben Barden
Head of Development
Ben is our resident techy. He has been the architect of what printed.com is: a meticulously detailed yet easy to use website. Having built the entire site, Ben continues to come up with new ways to improve it, and always finds a way to make everyone's ideas possible. Ben carefully steers the office music away from what everyone else knows and loves, before throwing in the most outrageous rubbish just to see if anyone's listening. He also has to remind Paul not to get carried away with the praise when writing his bio. If Ben's not coding something, he's probably blogging, tweeting, or watching a movie.
Bilal Mallick
Web Developer
Originally from Pakistan, Bilal gained his Degree in Computer Sciences before coming to the UK to complete his Masters in Advanced Software Engineering. Basically he is like well clever yeah. When Mr Ben Barden doesn't have him chained to his desk Bilal enjoys travelling, Xbox and riding shotgun on road trips. Apparently this one time, he popped out to the shop & ended up in another country with three of his friends. We have a feeling there's more to that story. His friends describe him as laid back, mellow and adamant. We'll add Ninja to that, he really is quite stealth like & seems to have the ability to enter & leave a room without making a sound.
Richard Wilkins
Front-end Developer
Richard likes things clean and simple – his aim in life is to get everyone off Internet Explorer and on to a decent browser like Chrome. He has an IE-using twin who is completely different to him in looks, personality and tastes. Richard played basketball to a semi-professional level, and it’s the only sport he’ll watch on TV. He’s a family man who spends his free time with his fiancée and two children, cooking Caribbean stews and baking cakes – or so he says. After the kids are asleep, he cherishes ‘me time’ with his Xbox. At work, he takes keyboard breaks by bending his little finger abnormally far back.
Marco Criscuolo
Search and Insight Manager
Marco is our resident South African who loves a good game of paintball. He will not be beaten and in fact almost went pro until his daughter came along. Marco is a dedicated father and loves to bore us, sorry, entertain us with funny videos of his little ray of sunshine. Citing his greatest achievements as having eaten a 2.1kg steak + portion of chips + 1 litre of beer in 1 hour (greedy) and winning a colouring competition when he was 12 (wow, congratulations on that Marco) he is also a dab hand at assisting his wife with her novelty cake baking. In the office Marco manages our SEO and PPC and what an excellent job he does too.
Pepijn Versluys-Dunesme
Business Development and Acquisition Manager
Our Belgian business growth expert is known as 'Pep' as no-one in the office can pronounce his real name. He couldn't wait to get out of his home country and left as soon as he completed a 'pretty useless' Masters degree in Marketing. Thereafter a quest to gain real-world skills led him to successful stints for PayPal in Dublin and Vistaprint in Barcelona. The 2012 Olympics turned him sports-mad and last year he finished his first Ironman competition and a marathon in Sierra Leone for the charity Street Child. In his spare time he likes to try to entertain his Puerto Rican girlfriend by pretending to be a TV chef in the kitchen at home.
Ashleigh-Jayne O'Connell
Social Media and Content
With a degree in Film and Broadcast Production, our social media and content whizz Ashleigh-Jayne is equally at home in new media and old. As well as working for printed.com, she blogs about tea drinking and is currently making a zombie movie. She loves Tim Burton, Christopher Lee and Gone With the Wind, has qualified as a ballroom dancing teacher and once walked over hot coals for charity. Ashleigh-Jayne proved her work ethic when she spent six months getting four hours sleep a night while holding down internships and a job. She's still gutted she didn't get into Hogwarts and has an irrational fear of beans.
Ian Gordon
Operations Director
Ian has worked with us since he was 19 years of age! The longest standing member of our business, he has print and operations running through his veins. Today he oversees our team of 150 dedicated production and customer services people and continues to strive for the best result every time. His knowledge, experience and love of the business makes him our leader! Rarely not at work; he can be found swimming hundreds of lengths of Olympic size pools or watching fast cars with his son Ryan.
David Duncan
Production Director
David joined straight from school, and has now been with the company for 23 years, what he doesn't know about the industry isn't worth knowing. As Production Director David is a key man at printed.com. He is responsible for making sure all work goes out on time, ensuring it is all correct and present and is also charged with looking after all of the production staff. On the odd occasion he is allowed to escape the realm of ink and paper, he enjoys spending time with his family talking about digital print.
Bernard O'Connor
Environmental Specialist
He's been with the company for 25 years and currently holds the role of Environmental Specialist. Brainiac Bernard has a diploma in management studies and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. When he's not knee-deep in ink cartridges and paper, Bernard likes to indulge in sport. He is an avid Tottenham Hotspur fan and is trying to regain his fitness despite apparently having two dodgy knees!
Peter Storey
Customer Service
When Peter is not fronting "Coldplay" he works for printed.com on Customer Service and Pre-Press. Peter has great knowledge of the print trade and has worked for the Independent, Sunday Telegraph, Mail on Sunday, The Observer and The Guardian. Peter loves all things outdoors and can regularly be found running, mountain biking, canoeing or camping with his son. Peter started working for us in December 2010 and can regularly be found working well into the night.
Ami McGuinness
Customer Service
Young Ami is a fun, energetic and helpful person who loves to chat. Ami enjoys a good laugh and is a real addition to our customer service team. As well as being outgoing and lively, especially after a few vodka and lemonades, Ami also loves the finer things in life. Walking along the coast on a warm summer's night and dining in expensive restaurants is what really excites Ami but nothing gets her quite as warm and fuzzy as sharing a big bar of chocolate with her 2 boys Smokey and Joey. Ami has spent all her life working in print and is still loving it!
Rachael Sage
Customer Service
Rachael loves spending time with her friends and family, shopping, going to the cinema and eating out. When she's not playing the socialite Rachael likes to get out and about on long walks or drives, dependant on the weather. A champion ice-skater, Rachael loves spending time on the ice showcasing her triple axels to her crowds of adoring fans. If you ask nicely she'll send you a video of her in action. Rachael thoroughly enjoys working for printed.com and helping people with their digital print requirements.
Dan Dewson
Customer Service
Dan is our pre-press guru, with the know-how to help you perfect your files for print. He has a degree in Illustration and Design, and combines his artistic leanings with technical savvy. Before printed.com he worked at BT for seven years in advanced technical support. He's very laid back, but hardworking and reliable. Dan enjoys the odd night out and describes his favourite drinks as 'the wet ones'. Most Sunday mornings, when he can run in a straight line, he likes to play Sunday League football. His sporting prowess showed itself at the age of five, when he came second in the egg and spoon race (he still has the medal).
Kevin Cameron
Finance Director
Kevin has been part of the printed.com team for many years. Like all accountants he loves numbers and watching printed.com grow. Travelling often between our offices in London and Newcastle he can been seen on trains crunching numbers and working out how we can improve our service and deliver work faster and more efficiently. Almost the only member of our team who wears a suit and tie every day we love him because he loves to watch businesses grow. Just make sure you pay your bills because as a true Newcastle fan he has some scary friends.
Becky Brough
Financial Controller
Mrs Brough has been with the company for 3 years. An ACA Chartered accountant she knows the movement of every single penny here at printed.com, there's no borrowing from the petty cash when she's around. Paul thinks she's forgotten, but that 46p he borrowed for a KitKat is rapidly accumulating interest for a deposit for her next property. Just because she works in finance don't mistake her for not knowing how to party, we've seen that tattoo on her ankle, something to do with Ibiza, 6 jugs of sangria, 2 dolphins and a police man apparently. Becky loves to travel and has recently returned from honeymooning in Indonesia.
Matthew Mills
Advisor for Customer Marketing
Marketing and advertising guru Matt advises printed.com on acquisition, media and marketing. Matt is currently Chief Executive and founder of shomei.com and co-founder and Managing Director Europe at Tracking.net. When Matt has some spare time, he enjoys coaching rugby, mountain biking and spending time with his family.
Stephen Barr
Advisor for Insight and Data
Steve works with printed.com as a strategic data consultant. He is founding partner of Persuasion Engines, which is about to launch Psyche, a new marketing tool, in to the UK. A man after our own heart, Steve's motto is "it's not a crisis if there's strong coffee". When printed.com gives him a moment's peace, Steve likes to do triathlons, drink fine wines and read finer books.
